Tours + Group 'Winery Experiences'

Open daily, year round and located along the Niagara Wine Route, we invite you to taste samples of our VQA wines and tour the production facilities at the Niagara College Teaching Winery, housed within the Wine Visitor + Education Centre, Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus.

Public Tour

Saturday and Sunday – 2 pm
$5.00

This guided tour will take you through our state-of-the-art facility and allow you to learn about the history of Canada’s only commercial Teaching Winery, and go 'back to school' to learn all about the processes of producing wine. Your tour will conclude with a structured tasting of three VQA Niagara College Wines.

• Sensory Lesson

  $5.00 person

  Learn about Canada's only teaching winery, your knowledgeable guide will lead you through a tasting and sensory lesson while you sample 3 VQA wines at our new Wine Visitor + Education Centre Tasting Bar. Enhance your experience with a chocolate pairing for an additional $3.00 per person.

• Educational Tour and Tasting Lesson

  $7.00 person

  Experience what it is like to be a wine student. This guided tour will take you through the New Wine Visitor + Education Centre, home of Canada’s only Teaching Winery. A knowledgeable guide will give you an interactive tour of the vineyard (weather permitting), production area and barrel cellar. You may see the students in action in the classroom or lab. This tour ends at the tasting bar where you will sample 3 VQA wines while learning the basics of wine appreciation. Enhance your experience with a chocolate pairing for an additional $3.00 per person.

• Mini Seminars

  $12.00 person

  These tasting lessons will focus on specific areas of knowledge.

  • Pinot Preference The ABC’s of blind-tasting.
  • Seductions of Oak Effects of oak-aging on wine.
  • Six Scents Train your nose to identify the six most common aromas in wine.
  • Size and Shape Matter Get the most from your wine by understanding the dramatic effect of stemware and decanting.
  • Secrets of a Successful Marriage Discover the four basic elements to successful wine and food pairing.

• Picnic Lunch Option

  With a glass of our "College Series" wine for $17.00
  Without wine $12.00

  A delicious boxed picnic lunch is available as an option for groups to enjoy on the patio at the Wine Visitor + Education Centre. Please note this option must be pre-ordered for your group, contact information is found below.

All Prices are per person and will have applicable taxes applied (GST until June 31, HST beginning July 1). Wine club members receive complimentary VIP tours vouchers through membership, more details available at www.nctwinery.ca/WineClub.aspx
